Las aguas de Galicia y el Mar Cant\u00e1brico son una caja de sorpresas y a menudo nos regalan impresionantes criaturas. Abrimos una secci\u00f3n de #animalesMARavillosos como el calamar gigante Taningia danae<\/i><\/strong> que os presentamos en esta entrada.<\/p>\n

Se trata de una especie de cefal\u00f3podo de gran tama\u00f1o que posee dos fot\u00f3foros<\/strong> que son los m\u00e1s grandes del reino animal. Estos fot\u00f3foros tienen forma oval y se encuentran en los extremos de sus brazos. Adem\u00e1s, presenta dos filas de garfios<\/strong> en sus brazos para agarrar a sus presas, a las que desmenuza con su fuerte pico. Aunque su dieta es variada, su presa favorita parece ser la bacaladilla del Mar Cant\u00e1brico (Micromesistius poutassou<\/em>).<\/p>\n

A pesar de habitar zonas tropicales y templadas de todos los oc\u00e9anos, los registros son muy escasos. Normalmente \u00a1s\u00f3lo aparecen dentro de los est\u00f3magos de los <\/span>cachalotes<\/a><\/span>!

De hecho, la primera vez que se vio en Galicia fue en el a\u00f1o 2000 y lo hizo nuestra compa\u00f1era Bego\u00f1a Santos. Aquel ejemplar se pesc\u00f3 frente a la Costa da Morte. Pesaba 44.5 kg y su manto med\u00eda m\u00e1s de 1m.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/em>Luego se capturaron tres ejemplares m\u00e1s en el Ca\u00f1\u00f3n de Avil\u00e9s (a\u00f1o 2000), otro m\u00e1s frente a Estaca de Bares (2013), y el protagonista de este hilo, el m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o, frente a la costa de Lastres, en Asturias (2014).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
